Hackney Wick and Olympic Stratford Culture Jam

Artist colony to post-Olympic neighbourhood – the ‘new Shoreditch’?

Embedded! Since 2009 as Hackney Tours I’ve been exploring, observing and recording Hackney Wick, as the Olympics changed it forever. I’ve volunteered, written newspaper articles and even been a university research facilitator in this unique part of East London (3hrs from £180)

This is Hackney Wick

He was able to take us through several neighbourhoods we had chosen because we are staying here and we wanted to know about this vibrant community. Everywhere we went, Simon ran into people who knew him and who were willing to stop and share bits of their day with us. We met volunteers, artists, gallery owners and market traders.(Laura W, Vancouver)

This is fascinating area was my very own East Berlin. I’ve shared my stories and observations about its change from industrial backwater to artist colony and now residential neighbourhood with everyone from the British Council (creative economy etc) to German universities and British broadsheets like the Guardian newspaper.

Nobody can deliver you a tour quite like this.
