20 years, 4 continents – on land, on sea

Travel agents, soccer tours, language schools – I’m here for you! Hit me up for a quote, because making visitors to my city happy, that is my vocation. You look good, I get your business – everyone wins 🙂
I’m not your average guide. Over two decades I’ve led thousands of visitors through London, Europe, China and Australia and America.
Along the way I’ve looked after divers 40 metres underwater, handled what could have been a tour bus disaster on a motorway and volunteered with refugees in Ukraine and Calais.
“Professional, flexible, and deeply knowledgeable—equally adept at supporting classic programmes and crafting one-of-a-kind experiences.” (Pierre, Cashel Travel)
I’ve done the hospital visits at midnight, worked out a solution when the luggage disappeared and fielded the queries and the complaints. Now I focus fully on making people happy!
Guiding, I’ve learned, is really about the same thing wherever it is: helping people feel safe, curious and fully alive in a new place. This empowers people to go off and have their own adventures afterwards. This is the legacy of a decade+ of educational tour directing.
In 20 years on four continents I’ve worked with families, schools, language schools, soccer tours, businesses, universities and even trained teen guides for a social enterprise. I’ve spoken on podcasts in the USA, spoken in newspapers in the UK and Germany and appeared at World Travel Market London (WTM).
What gave me the skills to get all those 5-star reviews? Well here’s some of it:
I cut my tourism teeth in hostels then dive boats then returned to Europe. I became an Educational Tour Director with the likes of EF Cultural Tours (10 years) and Somewhere New and Anderson Travel.
I took Brits to China with Travelsphere and around Europe with Just You. I wrote backpacker articles for TNT Magazine and contributed to Not For Tourists guide to London.
“He provided us with great historical background and interesting information as well. He is very laid back, funny, and he obviously really cares that he gives a great tour.” (Lori, US)
For a decade I led walks for the local authority in Hackney. I have run my own tours in East since 2012, which is when I began with Tours By Locals.
I also trained teen guides for street art tours of Camden in London, for social enterprise Catch22.
I have worked for people like DMC Cashel Travel and luxury travel agency 360 Private Travel. I speak fluent French, B1 German and conversational Spanish (A1?).
This is how the tourism adventure all began, leading divers in Australia and Vanuatu:
